Charis Encounters

Charis Encounters

I hope to be a refuge for your soul as I share through grace & truth from the Bible & how it applies to our lives.

What is  your business and the mission of your brand?

Charis Encounters is a space of encouragement through God's word and my experiences. I solely use instagram to share what God is teaching me through small posts or pictures. The other aspect is the Romans 12:12 journals I've created based around that particular passage in scripture. It encourages us to lay our hopes and fears before God in prayer form and watch expectantly for Him to answer. The mission of all I do is to bring honor and glory to God through the things I think and the words I speak. That being said, the journal is an extreme passion of mine because it has a way of exposing my heart through the daily questions of "Hope" , " Fear" and "Prayer". By filling these three things out each day I personally have seen how God has drawn me closer to his heart and honored my surrender of my thought life. This journal is one I used many times over the last 8 years as I've wrestled with anxiety: physically and mentally. God has shown himself so faithful as I've leaned into His Word and put it into practice through this journal. Charis Encounters continues to be something I'm holding open handed and asking God to use to grow us into the people He intended from the beginning of time. The only way we get there is by looking at the Bible and asking Him to work in us.

What made you want to start this business? What’s YOUR story?!

I was told many times over the last few years that I've been given the gift of communication and words. Specifically after we lost our first baby in 2018, I was sharing online through our grief and people really seemed to resonate with what I was saying and what God was doing in my heart. So I started the Charis Encounters instagram page and sold journals. What makes me keep going is the constant need for encouragement as we all go in and out of different trial and triumph. God stays the same and the Charis Encounters instagram and journal really steady people. Personally, I need the accountability to turn my eyes off of my circumstances and remember the world at large that is daily struggling with the control of our own lives. God calls us to a life of surrendering all to Him, but our world teaches us to grab what we want when we want it. I love encouraging people, I feel like it's at the core of who I am and I love seeing how God uses me to love his people. What is one piece of advice that has propelled you and your business?

What is one piece of advice that has propelled you and your business?

The piece of advice that keeps propelling things forward is the call to be obedient to God in all things. That may mean the doing dirty dishes 7 days a week or training my kids to obey. It also may mean to speak out online to a hurting world about the God that made them. Whatever it may be, I have been advised to listen and respond. He keeps calling me to talk about the journals and post encouragement, so therefore I try my best to answer that calling and obey. I don't always get it right and sometimes I fail to listen, but he faithfully stays with me and calls me again in his supernatural patience.

What is something you wished you had known when you first started?

I wish I would've just started instead of trying to make everything "perfect"
