Look on the Bright Side!

Stephanie Morales - Something Bright

1. What’s your business and the mission of your brand?

Something Bright's mission is to remind women that they are seen, they are bright and they are loved. No matter how dark and lonely life may feel, there is always a bit of brightness that can be found. Even in the desert, there is bright. We create boho, lightweight, wearable clay earrings for every occasion. Each design is handmade with the purpose of bringing "something bright" into each woman's life in hopes of reminding them to find their bright no matter the circumstance.
"...Sorrow may last for the night, but joy comes in the morning." Psalm 30:5b

2. What made you want to start this business?

I started working with clay in 2020 as a therapeutic release while I recovered from a knee injury/surgery to keep my mind occupied and creating. I fell in love with this art form and the way it helped me through a dark season. Creating art reminded me that there are bright things in the world if you just open your eyes and welcome them. After months of creating "just for fun" and continuing to perfect my technique, I decided to turn this new passion into a business. If creating this jewelry brought something bright into my life, it could potentially do the same for others. My hope is that with each piece purchased, you are reminded that you are not alone.

3. What is one piece of advice that has propelled you and your business?

Don't forget the small beginnings. I think that we get caught up in wanting to beat the algorithm, get the most followers, or become the next big thing that we forget how we started and who helped us get there. Of course we want to succeed, and it is important to make goals and create vision, but in doing so, don't neglect those "day one" supporters who bought your product even when it wasn't quite perfect. ;) Continue to create community within your brand and that will set you apart.

4. Do you have a specific quote/mantra/verse that propels you in harder times?

It sounds silly, but I  a list of "I am" statements paired with a Bible verse that I go through when I am doubting myself or need to refocus. For example, "I am unique" paired with Psalm 139:14. If you want more of that list follow me and send me a DM and I am more than happy to share!
